What's Tuina Massage?

Tuina (tui na) pronounced 'too-way-nah' is a manual manipulation within the scope of practice of traditonal Chinese medicine. It's widely practiced & developed in Chinese hospitals for treating various disorders & imbalance.

Tuina VS Western Massage
- Tuina massage is based on traditional Chinese medical theories (2500 years of clinical experience) & focuses on pressure points & meridian channels ( Western massage is based on anatomy and scientific research).
- Tuina massage doesn't use oil & the client doesn't need to undress: it's suitable in public | Western massage uses oil/lotion, the client is usually nude and covered by sheets.
- Tuina massage has many techniques & variations: it's harder for beginners to learn & needs years of practice | Western massage has fewer techniques, and is easy to learn, but due to limited techniques, western therapists are prone to injury, their average career span is about 8 years.
